Message from the intake valve cover pipes. I remove the pipe inserts and have them open to atmosphere. My engine sealed up pretty well (very little ring blowby) and there is only very small traces of oil around that open port - just a fine film of oil in that area. Older or improperly built engines with a lot of blowby could expect to see more oil in this area which is why I suggested to use the hose to drop that port down low.

The intake valve covers have a decent baffle system for these ports from the factory so it wouldn't surprise me that even with an engine producing more ring blowby there would still only be a marginal amount of oil coming from the ports. Reasoning behind that is an engine will produce the most blowby during WOT condition, which also makes it very difficult for oil to make its way to the front of the valve cover due to acceleration - and on the same token, when the throttle is closed, blowby is going to be at its minimum so even with the deceleration force experienced at closed throttle (which would aid the oil in moving towards the front port), there isn't much blowby further helping the oil to exit the port.

If it were ever an issue, a catch can could be put in place to collect any oil coming from these ports but I would be inclined to think that if there really were a concerning amount of oil coming out of these ports, you likely have other more serious problems....
